i don't know exactly what to call them, but i'm looking for some of the little plastic fasteners that go through the radiator, ac condeser, and tranny cooler on my k5. i'm pulling the ac coil to patch a hole, but it doesn't look like i'll be able to remove the fasteners without damaging them or one of the coils. and they seem to be one-time use items, so cutting them off and replacing them seems like the best option. i assume these things are relatively cheap, but i can't find them anywhere. i checked all the auto parts chains and all the big hardware stores.

if i can't get ahold of some, i may just make some brackets out of some 1/8" steel i have sitting around. that would probably be better offroad than having one coil hang from another, anyway.

You are best off making brackets out of that steel. Those plastic fasteners work ok on a street machine. But in a vehicle that is used off pavement. The vibration will cause those Hard plastic nylon fasteners to wear holes in the radiator and the AC coil causing leaks.

 hmm, that's a good point. i was thinking in terms on the coils bouncing around, but i hadn't really thought about the plastic wearing holes in the piping, but i bet that's a real possiblity.

thanks, man.
