I wont use Bosch Platinium plugs,I've seen too many engines my friend tuned up with them that skipped or misfired with those plugs!..they ran better with the original plugs!....I see reason to run platinum plugs in any older engine that was not factory equipped with them, and many wont run right with them...a waste of money and effort to install!..
I have always used AC-Delco's ,or Autolite in GM engines..I noticed the newer AC plugs are mexican junk though,I prefer the old AC "fire-ring" plugs or Autolites..
I have used NGK's in dirt bikes but not much else,I'm not a big fan of them...
Champions SUCK,I hate Champions..well,not that much,I get plenty of free lawn mowers that were scrapped, that only needed the Champion plug tossed away, and a GOOD brand of plug installed and some fresh fuel, and they ran sweet..the new Champions with no "ribs" on the insulator they put in newer mowers suck the worst!..they show excellent spark when you check for it,but in the engine, the spark jumps to the shell inside under compression and it refuses to fire!..
I've had decent luck with some "Mighty" brand spark plugs I got a barrel fuul of free when a gas station closed up--but I think AC made them for Mighty, some even had the AC insignia stamped on the shell near the threads, but the porcelain said "Mighty"..!...I dont believe in paying 5-10 bucks for "miracle" plugs with multiple ground electrodes either,I see no advantage to using them...the only plug I used that did make a big difference in a one lunger that fouled plugs religiously was an "Aldor" brand one touted to "fire in oil" and never foul--well,the one I used lived up to that claim, the engine fouled every other plug in a matter of minutes it smoked so bad,but the Aldor plug lasted a whole season without fouling..it wasn't till I couldn't see the electrodes that the engine was starting hard, when I cleaned it,it ran just as sweet as before..all the other plugs were DEAD once they fouled..
