Just wondering how feasible taking a 91 350 tbi motor and moving it over to an 83 carbed truck.

I've got an 83 305 carbed truck and the motor is going south on me fast. Its got low oil pressure, starting to run hot in the 210 range, down on power. Its just flat worn out.

I've got the 350 out of my 91 Suburban just sitting in the shop doing nothing. I would rather not spend the money on a 305 long block to put in this old truck. So the quest is how feasible would this swap be?

I know I'd have rejet the carb but I'm more concerned about the cam profile, flex plate, and other things.

I think if you've got the flexplate on the '91, you are good to go.

If nothing else, the intake is probably the biggest hassle, have to buy a carbed one I suppose? Maybe someone makes little adapters to go under the center intake bolts to put the older intake on the newer heads? That would allow you to re-use the older intake.

Well I *do* know where someone could get a complete '89 R/V TBI engine side wiring harness if they needed one. lol
