On my K5 I can turn the music up very loud before the speakers start crackling and get all distorted. I thought it was the Pioneer CD player in it so I threw the Alpine I had in my old blazer in it and its doing the same thing.

Ive already tryed swapping out the speakers. I have an XM unit in there too but its never caused this problem in other trucks Ive had.

Everyone once in awhile itll work like normal and I can crank it and it sounds perfect.

Am I getting feedback from something, Im lost and getting pissed about it. Im about ready to take it to a car audio place and just throw them the keys and tell em fix the ****er.

How are the spark plug wires?

I had this issue once and it was a wire that had gotten burned on the exhaust manifolds arcing and creating some kind of electrical interference. I cleaned it up and moved it off where it was and whalla, problem went away.

We've also talked about this recently on here. I forget which thread...guy with a newer IFS truck.

Theres a few more things to check....

What other systems are you running? CD, VHF? anythin like that?

Amp installed? If so how close are the speaker wires runnin in relation to the amp power wire? Possible short in a speaker + wire to the body? Bad ground?
