Hey all,

Relatively new here and no experience with body work, so I'd like some opinions. I have the opportunity to buy this blazer, but am holding off for now because of some rust repair that would need to be done. I'm trying to decide whether to pass on this and keep looking for a different one or suck it up and deal with the repairs (I know, a bit of a personal decision). Has anyone dealt with fender rust repairs like this? Any ideas on what the cost might be to have a shop do it?

Thanks for your input, just trying to gather some info.

Welcome @Magpie.

Experience here say if you can see that much, there is more.
Check out our K5 buyers guide, our body shop section, good guide on rust repair in there.
Fenders are the easy part, they unbolt, and solid replacement gets bolted back.
It's the floors, rockers, b pillar that will be the deciding factor

Thanks Wes! I'll check that guide out. I'm headed back to look at it again next weekend - I'll dig around more then.

That's an easy fix with replacement, when you go, take a look at the tailpan, where the bed ends and the tailgate mounts. That is a common spot, along with around the windshield.

You are joking about a repair ???? inspect the blazer with a light & an ice pick...light poking will tell what you are in store for..

the only way to fix panels is to cut the damage out & weld in new metal.
