Fender swap fitment between models?

Hey all, new here. Recently picked up an '82 K5 with a newer crate motor and even has a current VA safety inspection! Runs good but she's a little crusty, so when considering replacing the front fenders I'm wondering if 1980 fenders would fit on my '82. Looks like doors and besides are the same, I've just always preferred the boxed off body lines of the previous model. Just wondering if it's a direct fit or worth the trouble

The whole front clip changed in 81. Fenders, hood, core support all different and they added the cowl filler in 81. It's possible to swap the entire front clip but can't mix and match.

it is a tad easier to go backwards with the whole front clip swapped . but to go 73-80 and then 81-up swapped is more work for the hinges for the hood went in the wiper cowl area and also the wiper cowl vent cover is now bolt on and not part of the hood . its not a bad job if you have a little time and the parts .
