Ok, so im trying to plan my first off roading trip with my buddy who just bought a brand new Nissan Frontier, which for what it is, is a pretty nice truck, and can look real decent lifted with real tires on it, lol.

Really I only have two questions:

Can someone suggest a recovery strap for me incase one of us does get stuck?

And where on the front of our K5s is a good recovery point?

add some kind of hook or ataching point to the front they have factory hooks if they are there or try for some used ones. rear use the reciever if if has one.
BY a kenetic strap money but well worth it blazen carries them ord might as well they stretch so it easier on the truck and the the drive train.

The factory hooks do attach to spots already there. Two vertical bolt holes if I remember right.

Hum, I see an extra bolt hole by where the bumper attaches, is this the spot for stock hooks? Anyone have pictures? Looking to get a front recovery point on the truck just in case, thanks.

Here's a pic. This is the driver's side, at the very front of the framehorn.

I see how kinetic straps would be the way to go, but considering im going to be doing beginnerish trails for the rest of this year at least, would a non-kinetic strap be ok? Just looking for something just in case, probably incase my buddies Frontier or Wrangler get stuck.

Something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/RECOVERY-TOW-STRAP-4-X-30-20-000-LBS-CAPACITY-NEW_W0QQitemZ170247188783QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item170247188783&_trkparms=72%3A1073%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1318

I assume the ends would be in two loops already?

yes, that has loops on the ends. make sure you have good tow points, incase you get stuck. it sucks to not have a strong mount and have to fish a strap around something that wasn't made to be pulled on.

Yea, all three of us have front and rear tow hooks on our trucks.
The wrangler might not have a front one, but me and the Frontier will be going first without him anyway.
