My buddy is going to upgrade his rear 10b to a full float 14bolt, if we do the disk brake conversion is there a way to run his existing high dollar six lug wheels? has anyone done this before ?

Thanks

Do a search this is discussed all the time.

Yes it is doable, no it is not cheap. It involves running custom spacers that change the pattern (which noone makes anymore than I can find) or weld filling your existing 14FF hubs and turn them down and then redrill with the 6X5.5 bolt pattern of the front.

I would recommend swapping the front 10 bolt to 8 lug also, sell the high dollar rims and buy an 8 lug set to fit the tires he currently has or buy a set of 17s with new tires. I only say 17s because of the ability to use H2 rims and there are a good selection of tires in 17.

Looks like we will be end up having to 8lug the front IFS

Alex (WRENCH-HEAD) did have B_to_C's old 8lug-6lug adapters. You might check with him because last I knew he wasn't going to be using them.

there is a 6 lug 14bff for sale in the for sale section

The 6 lug 14 bolt I have for sale isn't a true floater anymore. 12 bolt shafts that have had the c-clips machined off. Uses pressed in bearings to hold the axles in with the 4 bolt retaining plate on the end of the tubes. It has a 10.5 inch pumpkin with full floater guts. Weaker than a true 14FF, but stronger than a 14SF.

The previous owner paid $2000 for it. Selling for $350. There's 4 guys in line for it.

Gear Tech HD sells hubs to adapt 14 bolts to 5x5.5, they also have dana 60 rear 6 lug kits, you might give them a call I bet they also have 14 bolt 6-lug kits, also for you guys with spripped threads on your 14 bolt spindles they sell weld on spindle kits. it might not be cheaper to go this route but its an option. also grady's extreme offroad sold conversion 14 bolt hubs but they have went of business. just thought Id throw that in.
