I'm coming up on needing to do some steering work to the GMC. What do you guys think of these tie rods with heim joints.

Their ad says off road use only. What's your guys' view on heims on the street? I just want to upgrade when I replace...

Those are some mean looking tie rods... I usually stick with Moog Chassis parts, but even those seem to go bad almost every year with the way we plow with the truck

In SFA truck discussion, many people prefer not to run heims on the street. They will work, but often wear faster than traditional components. They often fail to isolate vibration also.

I think it depends on your application. If you aren't putting tons of miles on it, you will probably be fine.

Me? If i was into a more aggressive rig....i'd consider them on the trail, but would stick to traditional steering components for the street.

Had them on my duramax, they are great for what they are but my truck having some excessive torsion bar cranking caused the wheel side heims to wear out so i went back to ball joint style. But for 99% of people they will work great and are a really good product, if they get a little squeaky shoot them with some white lithium grease. I'm sure it says off road only for liability reasons.
