Just wanted to see if anyone else has the FGB52 (from DIY4X) and has it installed on their blazer. I would like to get it only because I want more beef from my front spring hanger as opposed to the factory crap. I have no intensions of actually putting 52" springs but just looking for the beef up front. I know it's pricey but I'm going to check with Kert and maybe he'll cut a break on the $$$ if I don't get/want the rear shackle eye hanger too. I just have no faith in the current factory hangers even though I don't wheel my truck very much or very hard when I do. What's your guys thoughts. Any pics?:D

I think I'm leaning to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" theory on this one. Will you get a useable benefit from changing the hangers? If not, put that money elsewhere.

Yeah you are right. It's fine for now but of course you/I never never know. The money could go elsewhere I my rig. Thanks for the response YJ. Anyone else?

Ok Ok that is some funny chit right there. But I guess I can also take it as that you think my question is ridiculous.:dunno: :D :haha:

Nope, definitely don't think the post is ridicioulous - that SNL skit just is one of the best to come out in recent years and reference to it seems to come up in posts occassionally for unknown reasons.

Sorry no I haven't but if I was I would certanly call Kert and tell him what I want and I'd bet he would/could make it for me :D

I'll be ordering the kit sometime soon with the shackle flip and some other stuff. which leads me to my next ??...is the spring pin centered on a 52'er...i.e. can the axle be pushed forward by flippin the spring 180. i dont have my truck handy to measure the rears and i did poke around here for a few minutes with no luck.

FGB52 is different that the other B52 in that you can't mount anything much shorter with the hanger than a 52, unless you want the axle to move forward to allow the spring to reach the hanger. Big spread between the factory spring length and a 52"er.

52" spring is a centered pin.

OK. I emailed you from your website last night and it looks like you just answered my question. So I'm clear, if I use my standard 3" lift spring the FGB52's won't work right? Damn. Can you recommend any other options? I will be getting custom Deaver springs this winter and if so I should be able to get them made to 52" right? Anyways, any other input would be great. If nothing else can be done then I guess I'll just have to buy more of your other stuff.:D

My Brother needs a front crossmember that drops down but will still accomodate stock length lift springs. Any ideas? We built one but would like a real nice one.

why not remove the old rivets, put in some 1/2" or 9/16" grade 8" hardware then weld some square or round tubing from one bracket to the other to support the hangers from buckling.

The rivits are gone and have grade 8 hardware installed but good idea for the cross brace. I'll look at that. Thanks
