Ok guys I have no where else to turn and im running out of ideas quick.

Some background info:

My 88 k5 project started when I bought it and it had a no reverse, a rusted freeze plug and a blown 10 bolt rear. Well like all gus in my situation I decieded that to fix these problems and leave it all stock was a waste of money. I pulled the motor to replace all the freeze plugs with brass, pulled the pan to check mains and rods for wear as well as to replace the oil pump for peace of mind. I also swaped the water pump for a new oem unit as well as the timing chain for a cloyes double roller. Other than that I did not change anything and the engine ran just fine b4 I pulled it just dumped coolant out the block due to the freeze plug. Well I put it off to the side and did my 1 ton swap and pulled the tranny and t case in favor of a fresh 700r4w/ corvette servo and a twin sticked np205.

Well now that I have completed the one ton swap and preformed all the nesscary repairs. I am back to engine. I drop it back it back and hooked everything back up. I have checked all my wires and have started try and hget it run. I at first had teh timing gear installed wrong and fixed that problem. Then i wasnt able to get anything to work period. I had the ign. module checked and sure enough the auto parts store said its bad. I replaced it and began attemptin to set the timing. I wasnt getting a strong spark it seem so I decied to replace the coil. Now i could get it to almost bust off and was finnaly able to get it run for about 20 seconds with almost no idle and a very un healthy sound. I had pulled the distributor twice to verify timing just to make sure and as well good. Well fast forward 2 weeks due to the constant rain weve had here. I finnaly get another day to wrench, I pull the tarp off and procedee to start where I left off . i get it stumble for a second then nothing until i eventually kill the brand new optimia yellow top i have. I scored a d4 from a friend and stuck it in still no luck. I have verified fuel as well as spark. I also pulled the timin wire(tan/white stripe) to atempt to set base timin to zero but i stll can get it to fire. Any ideas guys?

If he means the igntion control module then yes that statement is very trure. I went through 3 before i gave up on parts stores and got a acdelco from the dealer.

Do you live in a county that test for smog? in Texas. Sorry I just need clairification on that part!!!!!

here, in the dfw area, i'm subject to texas' most stringent inspection laws. we have to do the stupid test under load (dyno). that means my blazer just barely fails inspection. the solution is simple. we have a few kroger stores that sell e85. it's an easy way to pass with flying colors, and a few gallons won't damage anything on the truck. cheating? not really.

btw, don't run 100% e85. i did about a 25% mix with regular (10% ethanol) gas. since alcohol needs a different air/fuel ratio to run properly, too much would make things really strange at best.

This right here might be your problem. If you had the timing gears hooked up wrong you probably bent the valves. A compression check will verify this.

I concur with 4X4HIGH. I recently put the timing gear on incorrectly and bent the brand new valves in a non efi motor. So back to the machine shop they went. I also found that I had loosened some of the pressed in studs for the rocker arms so I switched to screw in studs.
