Fiberglass body patching? Goin' under the knife...

sorry, couldn't resist..... :haha:

Bonanza, I too am as oldschool as it gets.... :wink1: and i still prefer welding panels in myself... but i've always tried to keep an open mind to new tech too... done right, panel adhesive can come out as an excellent durable repair too.... key words, done right....

haha yea thats the key word in alot of stuff haha, i may have to give panel adhesive a try sometimes if i can break the welding habbit haha

Like I said...bottom line is if I'm going to do it without having to pay someone else to put the panel in it ain't getting welded.

I looked up a bunch of stuff on the panel adhesive and the consensus was in most cases it was a strong as a weld in collisions. Seems like a fine option to me.

Well, started grinding this afternoon. It was flaking so bad I figured it was time for the cutoff wheel. A few passes and it's starting to clean up nicely. Not as rotten as I had originally thought, didn't take much to get back to good thick sheet metal.
