Has anyone ever cut up a Blazer fiberglass top? I am needing pics/details about the internal structure of the top. I am looking at possibly finding an extra top to try a project with but wanted to know what the internals are like first. Specifically at the bottom of the side windows and the roof area. If anyone might can help please let me know. Thanks

The factory assembly manual has diagrams for the 69-72, I'd guess the later years do as well. It's basically just lots of different pieces glued together.

Anyone know if the later tops have a double wall that a piece of square tube can be placed in? Same spots, below windows and across the roof.

i chopped one up a few months back. il sketch up somthing real quick on paint.

Okay here is what I am thinking of doing. I was thinking of using the fiberglass top as the basis of a soft top build. I have decided though to simply start from scratch and build a metal frame work similar to a canback system. Something that can be sturdy enough to have a roof rack mounted on top. It will be removable intact as a whole just like the fiberglass top. My canvas of choice will be old Army surplus pup tent halves with convertable style plastic windows sewn in. The top will be basically permanent, but the sides will be able to roll up i.e. canback. For the rear I plan to have a removeable bar for the snaps at the bottom of the rear flaps. I have talked to a buddy that does upholstery and he said the material should be fine and he has a spray on treatment that will make it more waterproof. Hopefully I'll have it done by next spring.
