Okay, so I want to know a few things about fibreglass.

Say you hit a fibreglass fender on a rock, does it shatter??

Say that same fiberglass fender is on sub, and the sub is flopped, does it crack?

Overall would it be worth doing a fiberglass fender swap??? I mean the price compared to strength, and replacability??

They can be patched and fixed but basically the thought process with them is this:

If you want to save weight and don't plan on dragging your "sheetmetal" over objects than it works for you. However to really see a weight savings you need to invest in the whole front clip - hood, fenders, inner fender wells, etc.

If you use your body as the rock/tree/berm/stump equivalent of curb feelers than no, fiberglass isn't for you. In fact sheetmetal might not even be for you.

It doesn't shatter... it'll crack, but in alot of ways I find it more easily repaired than a steel fender...

That being said, a smashed up steel fender will be usable at least, whereas the fiberglass one would need more immediate attention usually...

and replacement is about twice the cost...
