Well my friend did a bit of research on rock lights and got some installed on his truck.. so i got the same stuff, and installed them tonight. They are 15dollar a pair 55watt driving lights from walmart, kit comes w/ all wiring you need minus the relay. I dont know how long they will last in mud and such but i think they throw plenty of light to use on the rocks! Some pics to share with you guys.

nice work!! that aught to scare the **** out of people on the highway at night. :D

I got some new lights for the front of my k10 and moved the old ones to the side and I have to say it's one of the best lighting changes I've made to the truck. As you said I'm not sure how long they'll last here but they're pretty cheap so it's worth it.

We were in Pismo last weekend and even though it's not on the rocks they were still nice to have for night excursions.

nicceee those lights must throw lots of light out. PS sick picture of sand throwing.. i like

Yeah they throw a ton of light. The way they're aimed the spot hits about 10' straight out from the doors but the lenses are so wide the light actually crosses over under the truck.

I had a pair on my DD and when people rode by butt I flipped them on and blinded the crap out of them. They are great.

Can i see some pics of how/where you mounted them? I got mine sitting in the garage, just havent had a day under 100* in 2 weeks:eek1:

they 2 front are mounted right next to the first body mount/spring mount to the radiator support in exsisting holes. The rear are located on the frame right near the shocks in stock holes in the frame. ill get pics tmrow.

i have those rubber encased 55watt lights out back, they do a good job and are pretty durable.

I found a pretty good spot to mount mine out of the way in the back. I havent done any more up front, one day . I have mine angled more OUT mainly for backing up or if I need to hook up a trailer or anything like that.

I did something similar to badmix, but on the bumper itself. My lights throw a flat light, so I cant mount them on the frame without getting another bracket.

I like the midship lights. I have an extra set of spots, maybe I'll use them there. I have two on the front bumper pointed slightly offcenter each side and used to have two on top for way offcenter each side. I ended up never using the top ones cuz they hit the mirrors and blinded whoever was inside.:eek1:

The mounting of these is easy the rears on mine are right above the axle in a factory whole in the frame. The front are in the old shock mount uppers.
