figured out why my 33s fit so well on stock suspension

i am hopeing to run 36 12.5 surplus hummer tires with minimal lift. in 2 weeks i should have my axels installed along with my zero's and hd shackle /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif so i will be at 2" front and 1" rear i have some generic 33" at's that only measure 32" that i will run for now. after i wheel and see how they fit i will trim accordingly then get my hummer tires. maybe i'll buy i dig. camera by then so i can show some pics

my Chapparal Steel Radial A/Ps are 33x12.50x15s. I figured out why they fit so well on the stock suspension, I measured and they are only 31 1/4 tall inflated. I must say though if you want a tire on your stock suspension that looks really good(are 11 something wide) and performs pretty well theses things are great. Anyone heard of this brand before? I see them around on trucks all the time but never see them in stores. mine came with my truck and every person I ask who has them theirs were on their truck when they bought it!

Well I tried to put 33's on with it bone stock (on the 79) and sitting still the passengerside was just hitting the fender lip. NTB would let me barrow a hammer so I went with 32's (BFG's) Ran them on the 79 with nothing other than a littl hammer work on the fender lip. I put a Rancho 2.5 lift (measures 3.75 over stock) on the 75 and I scrubbed all four wheels with the EXACT same tires and rims. Fenders cut back to the innerfender. Fronts scrubbed between the bolts for the innerfender to fire wall so no big deal.
I put 1 inch zero rates on the front and moved the axle foward 1 inch, I added 2 leafs to the rear pack and a 1 inch sero rate (no shift yet but when I redo the drive shaft it will be moved back 1 inche) . That gave me 4.75 lift in the front, 6 in the rear. A 1 inch body lift and I clear35 with no scrub on 10 inch rims. My inner fenders are still in the stock location and uncut. I also at some point ended up with more wheel travel. It was ramping 752 on the previous set up and now it ramps 839. My shocks were matched to the previous amount of lift so my shocks are now too short so once I get the shocks changed I should be in the 900's on a 25 deg ramp. I haven't been in anny hurry to fix the shocks. With lockers front and rear it goes where it's pointed.

if you go to my pictures you will see that the 35s are pretty snug and i did have to trim a little off the bottom but i have a few pics in there with 33s and i had all kinds of room, i cant find any pictures of it when i had 31s
