Figuring it out as I go along...

Trying to build a hunting, camping, take to the woods family rig that is safe and reliable. I have no formal training and this forum and YouTube have been my inspiration. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks for looking
They are ORD custom leafs. It looks thick but it’s flexy and rides so smooth. I should note that I’ve also got a Dana 60 front and a 14bff rear so the shock mounting should be similar for you.

And I hear ya on the learn stuff project. I thought I knew how to work on vehicles before but this thing has challenged//fought//taught me every single step of the way. Most of it has been undoing the previous person’s laziness and half assness.

Finally got some time to work on the burb. Got a new rough country steering stabilizer installed and put the new bilsteins on. I ended up going with ones that fit the stock mount for now. I'll keep the extended shock mounts and longer shocks and do that after I sort out the exhaust clearance on the front driveshaft. Took her out for a test drive... Man what a difference!! The Burb went from a wallowing whale with a hell of a lean in the corners to a more stable platform that I'm not nervous to drive. I'm so happy.

Start by saying nice Burb And I hope that the fires didn't do you dirty. I am right down the road in Salem. Maybe you could talk to an exhaust shop and they could move the crossover back closer to he pivot of your front driveshaft to give you more droop or think about going duals which is what I did. if I can be of help to you just pm and I can send pics and suggestions

Got my new headliners in and covered in new fabric. It was pretty easy to do, but that glue means business. I had to work fast to not get any wrinkles. Now I just have to wait for the Oregon weather to get better so I can put them in. Still toying around with the idea of doing the sun visors also.

I also got a new to me driver's seat. My old one had a broken frame and I didn't know how to fix it. I found a guy in washington state that was parting one out but I had to buy both front seats and the center console. I threw in a pic of the broken seat.

It's been a while since I've posted, but that's how life and hunting season go I guess. With all the fires in the area hunting with slim pickings this year and I wasn't successful as far as harvesting an elk. But my brother and good friend went out and had a good time and the Burb did great. It did everything I required of it and I had no issues other than I think what is some connective issues with the switch for the heater/ vent. I was able to get the headliner put back in place with help from My wife, and I put new speakers and a bluetooth head unit in.
I wanted a full size spare in case something happened while hunting and ended up getting a set of 4 aluminum 16" rims. Now I can't decide if I like the black steelies or the aluminum ones better. Maybe I'll just get some of that peel off rust-oleum paint for the aluminum rims. I'll include pictures if you want to put in your 2 cents, lol.
