im quite lost on these racor filters-. Several questions:

The square filter that our trucks came with- What micron is that? And how is it replaced? Element, or whole block? Is it worth getting it agian, or getting the racor?

Second question, dunno if anyone is running Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO)- I would assume Im supposed to run this to at least the same quality as my regular diesel- yet I see people running things like 28 microns.

is that a bad injector clogging deal?

What is the preferred micron filtration. I've heard anywhere from 2-28, which is a great range.

My Racor is a 2 micron, the other filter I'm not sure...but I don't run WVO.

i don't have stock filters...sorry. I have a full size spin-on and the Racor.

the full size spin on- where is it located? I must be blind, all I can find is the square box one. I've looked under the frame rails a few times, and I cant find the secondary filter.

My set-up is not stock, although it may have it's roots there. My spin on is mounted to a custom mount on the firweall right next to my Racor. I robbed it from the '83 C30 donor truck when I swapped the 6.2 in. I think the spin on may have been stock for 83...maybe. The Racor was definitely aftermarket.

The model 80 box filter was the only filter/fuel heater used for stock after '85 I think. I think it also has a water in fuel sensor too.

Thanks rusty, if you have the the one why do you need the spin on one?

Clean fuel is very important...a second filter is common and a good idea IMHO.
