been wanting to buy this truck for a while. never could get a hold of the people or return calls when i left my name and number over a year ago. there was never a for sale sign on it. well, yesterday on my way home from work after i stopped at my buddies, it had a for sale sign on it. woo hoo. couldn't get back out there fast enough after i had dinner. bought it, and drug it home. tried to get it running, but it's hard after it sat for 5 years or more. thought for sure a chevy would fire up. any way here are some pics and specs.

'80 gmc 35 dually 4x4
350 ci, 465, np205.
dana 70 rear and of course dana 60 front.
headers, looks like good exhaust.
need to check out the frame, might not be too good.

has a big construction bed on it. full of stuff.
was hoping it was a 454 when i opened the hood.

not sure what i'm going to do with it yet. the cab needs work, but it might be fixable.

checked the ratio. 3.73's. does anyone know if this d70 can be converted to single rear wheel? i'd like to leave it in there and make the front SRW to make a tow rig out of it. also any idea whick d70 this would be?

just throw some h1 hummer wheels under it and your set

i don't really need beadlocks on it. it's gonna be mostly driven on the street for a tow rig.

yea I know what you mean, but IMO that would be the easiest way to switch to single wheels. Otherwise your swapping hubs, etc. Either way you have to get new wheels.

i already have wheels and tires for it if i go SRW. i have another dana 60 SRW that i can switch the hubs with. altho, it would be nice to use the DRW 60 and keep the other one SRW. hmmm decisions decisions.

Sure is a nice piece of American steel to start out with. There are a lot of different directions you could go with to build this thing up. Keeping it a dually, and lifting it up about 8" with a set of those narrow 35" TSL tires for duallies would make it look like a huge beast of sheet metal and tires.

Here is a picture of my truck to get your mind going on what all the possibilities could be with your truck (this thing came originaly as a SRW truck).
