Finally better brake research for the v3500 pays off

ressurection time

Are you still happy with this? Do you think the MC you used would work on a regular K5?

sorry to bring this bak from the dead, but will this master cylinder work without hydroboost? the p30 master i bought interfered with the brake booster

on a side note:

p30 = 14bff correct?
so does this mean there is a 14bff disk van width rear out there?
please say yes and i will begin my quest to find one

Hmmmm,

Good question. I'm thinking the differential that came on P30s were the 12" Rockwell. I just remember flipping by those in my service manual. I'll have to take a look to see if they came with discs.

most of the motorhome chassis were 14bolt.. or the d70hd...only when you got into the delivery van did they go to the rockwells...
dont trust me totally on this but I believe this is what I remember

Im still happy with this upgrade...
It is a direct bolt on for hydroboost equipped trucks... I dont think a non hydro truck would work... but someone who has a non hydro truck will have to let us know

The P-series 1-tons come in several flavours...

The 8-lug versions have drums, and the 14bFF... generally not more than 10k GVWR.

The 4wdb models are 10-lug. They used the Rockwell in the delivery vans... the heavy motorhome chassis used a D70HD to get the taller axle ratios.

One possibly way (I think) to get the 15k GVWR MC in the older trucks is to grab the MC/HB combo from a 91-00ish 3500HD. AFAIK the p-series booster sits crossways under the stubby hood. :crazy:
