Well, with the help of some gear from Chalet2506 , months of reading this forum, and most of all, the direction and big help from 77_Jimmy....things are starting to get serious around here.

Spent most of today getting the rear swap done. Got ride of the stock 10 bolt and swapped for a 14bff/4.10/detroit. Added new rough country leaf springs with a 4" lift. Stock driveshaft rebuilt with a 1350 to fit the rear. And fitted some 37" HMMV tires.

Will finish up the front tomorrow, luckily its already fully assembled. Again, big thanks to 77_Jimmy for spending the day getting dirty.

Sweet lookin rig man, looks really clean.

Usually when a truck is painted those colors its opposite of how yours is.

how do you like my pro street hot rod dragster k5 :haha:

More pics to come tomorrow.
I forgot to mark my yoke to see how much further its sticking out...but it appears to be out a good bit further. What do yall think?

hahahahahahahahahahahaha:D Your second tier bbq was pretty good.

thanks....its the best I could do while we worked.

FUSH kit (possibly)
swaybar disconnect
front axle swap
hook up brakes
...should be another fun day tomorrow.

Axle swap looks good! You said you had your driveshaft rebuilt with 1350, did it get re-tubed? Your slipyoke is out way too far. It needs to be corrected. Sorry to say, but It will need to be lengthened about 3-4 inches. Or around there somewhere. There can't be too much contact with the spines. Other than that, Looks killer. It will have a sweet stance when you get the front finished.

Truck is getting there. I will have to follow this buildup when I install my 14 bolt.

well, thanks to 77_Jimmy for showing up to finish the job today. Unfortunately I had to send him home when I hit myself in the face with a huge crescent wrench!

Great, now my truck is sitting in the driveway with the rear on 37s and the stock fronts. just my luck... face is throbbing, going to rest. dentist tomorrow.

I was gunna say you could always pass it off as an STD if that hillbilly gets any ideas. :haha:

yeah, i think im more embarrassed to have my truck sitting out in the driveway looking like this. I think I am going to take a day off later this week and get it finished. So far, the pain meds are working.

funny part is, I started this new build thread to be more "pro" This is what a real driveway build entails :D

At first I saw the pic and thought, you stopped working cause of a fat lip?

Then....... I saw the teeth. That totally sucks. Ouch.

Oh, and evidently, you can't play dodgeball..... cause you can't dodge a wrench.

I didn't see the teeth the first time, that is ****ty though. Hopefully you are feeling better and get back to work soon. I like where the build is going :waytogo:

yeah, I could have handled a busted lip, but I had to go to the dentist today and have both front teeth bonded and rebuilt. The front right one took most of the blunt, and was splintered on the backside of the tooth causing some decent pain.

looks like I may be finishing the job on weds, so stay tuned. Im on the couch on darvocet, and just reading forum posts for now.

if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge anything.

The lesson to be learned here, is to NEVER use a crescent wrench ever again. The correct size wrench wouldn't have done that.
