After a couple thousand miles of searching and endless wasted time searching the internet at work (I got my work done first, of course) I found her!
She was about 140 miles away. I will attach a couple of pictures to see what you guys think.
I would appreciate any input from you seasoned K5-ers for any mods or upgrades that should be first and formost. I need Brake Pads and rotors, Tires (P265/70/R16) & Shocks are first on the list. I think I am going to keep her a stock ride height for now, so no lift. I'm sure it could use new suspension and steering components. Any info you could provide would be very much appreciated.

Thanks again.

Rick

Doh! :doah: I can't post attachments yet... anyway very impressed with the find. Only $2K!

Best money is a membership. Second best is gas, as much needed to find your first problem to fix :D Keep it running as best you can and save for the big repairs.

What year is the truck?
Get them pics up.

$2k for that?

The seller got had.

Welcome to the site. Nice find. Just do the safety work, then drive it.

I don't want to sound too ignorant, but I don't know what those are. I searched for "safety work" but found nothing. Can you help me out with what I should be looking at doing at or sending me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Rick

Safety work, to me anyway, usually consists of checking and replacing if needed, brakes, bearings, steering components, belts, U-joints, hoses.....etc. Stuff that looks questionable and could leave you on the side of the road or in a ditch.

Do you want a detailed list and how to check them? If so, I will do it tonight when I have a real key board.

Ok, just common sense stuff. I was thinking if there were "special" stuff that might need to be checked or serviced. Reinforcements of certain area's etc...

I don't need a list of this common sense type of stuff, thanks though.

I was hoping to get a list of certain style/brand of shocks, better brand of rotors and pads that would be a decent upgrade type of stuff.

Wow great looking rig. I spent more than that on my pile and I've since replaced most of the drivetrain and the body is crappy too :haha:

Keep it clean man!

And don't be afraid to post lots and lots of pics. We love pics :thumb:

Wow, that's clean. Nice score. As for mods I'd say drive it first for awhile and see what you think needs work. Way too many people buy something new and then blow another $3K on "upgrades" that they later wish they had waited on until they really knew the truck. I've been guilty of that before too.

As for brakes, rotors, and maintenance type stuff, I personally just go with parts store stuff until I need something beyond that.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to CK5.
