Finally Got 1!

Nice truck and welcome to the neighborhood:waytogo: Like Adam said, the more pics the merrier.

In the front end:
I'd check/replace front rotors
New brake shoes
New brake calipers
New wheel bearings in rotors
New Moog upper and lower ball joints
New front axle shaft u-joints
Change front diff fluid
Check for wear on tie-rod ends, replace as necessary
Also, check for leaking front axle seals. Takes some work but it's nice to fix if needed.

Rear end:
Check brakes and drums, replace as necessary
Rear axle seals (if you replace brakes - and they are leaking)
Change rear diff fluid

Flush brake fluid after all brake work

Change transfer case fluid and Transmission fluid, too.

General tune-up:
plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, pcv valve

Of course if your front brakes are good, no need to replace but if you did it all, it gives you some piece of mind.

Here is a write-up I did on my front end:

Check the frame around the steering box for cracks.
Checked before I bought it. It's good.

And the reinforcement part I will certainly do. Thanks for that!

Jeff, that's good stuff, thank you. I had planned on several of those but there are some good things to look at that I would have missed.

You guys are great!

Did you get that from CDA Idaho and not come visit me? :doah:

Nice truck! :waytogo:

Hey Mark! You are like air aren't you? You are everywhere! I've talked with you on like 4 different forums now. Lol.

No, I got this baby in Hamilton MT. Yeah, I think I got a pretty sweet deal on it. Right now just getting it on Saturday, it NEEDS new front rotors, pads, cap, rotor, plugs & wires. I will surely get to other not so immediate issues after having some fun first! :woot::woot::woot:

Mark, I did travel through your town there last Friday night going to Washington to look at a couple of Blazers. I was going to stop and take a look at another Blazer there in CDA, but the guy didn't have any contact information on his Craigslist ad. I tried to have Craigslist contact him to get him to update it. He never did so too bad for him and yippee for me.

But next time I will give you a holler, I promise. :D

I'll be up there towards the end of June and hang around til about July 14th. Can't wait to get back! I'll make a pit stop in Billings and then finish the drive the next day.

Oh boy, this is where it begins. Pretty soon you be looking into a 14b/60 combo, doubler, beadlocks, 44's and Kerts awesome accessories.:D The K5 infection only spreads form here. Ask me how I know.

You got a real nice rig for a great price. My best advice would be drive it as-is for a while and get a good feel for it before you go making drastic changes. Everyone here is super knowledgeable and is equally passionate about their rigs and are more than willing to help you.

Welcome to the club and I wish you the best of luck with your rig.:thumb:

That's a nice looking Blazer! :D

But, on a separate note, was EVERYONE issued a set of Outlaw II's, in the early 90's?
They seem to be on EVERY 6x5.5" pattern vehicle I see. :haha:

There was even a set on the F-250 I used to have... :doah:

Heck yea! I drooled over the gold ones for my Red, 83' S-15 Jimmy. I just thought that would look so COOL!

I even have them on my boat (which I did just change though)! :dunno:

Yeah, I would like some sexy black rims but too much right now, but they are better than stock.

You'll have to let me know when you hit Billings so we can do a meet-n-greet.

Sounds fun but I know I'll be cruising in late that night, pick up the nieces/cousins and hit the rest of the trip first thing in the morning. I got to get to Idaho to help my sister-in-law with the new house they just bought on Hayden. Can't wait though!

Well the offer stands if you find yourself at a stand still.

Wow, that's a ssssmokin deal you got on that thing. Perfect looking body and nice interior.. Heck even the motor looks to be in nice shape. Great find, love it!:waytogo:

I stop in Helena for fuel and food a couple times a year! Might have to bring that shiny K5 over so I can see what rust free K5s actually look like, LOL

Very nice truck and awesome deal!
