One of my favorite parts of my '74 is that it had OEM bolt holes for the behind rear seat spare. Just like in Jaws.

The mount for it is one of the most expensive random OEM gizmos I bought so far. I found one on eBay in perfect condition with the carriage bolt and associated parts.

Found a stock Rally wheel and mounted it up! Luckily I have 32x11.50 tires cause it won't fit any bigger.

very nice! I was wondering what those holes were for as I was sandblasting the bed a few weeks back. any chance you could post some without the tire or do you know a link or source for more detailed pics. I'm thinking of making one for mine

It's basically an A-frame. The back leans a bit forward to angle the tire.
