My latest build of my truck, which has gone from bare frame to driving around town in 3-4 months, is well... driving around town. I of course haven't totally finished it yet, needs rear shocks and a traction bar, as well as better bumpers on both ends, but the bulk of the work is done, and it's way more fun to drive than I ever imagined.
I've posted a number of pictures along the way in various threads, so I'll keep it to the start and the end in this thread. Keep in mind, I tried to build this truck as absolutely low as possible to fit 42's. I don't think it could get too much lower! Some of the build details are
77 Jimmy frame
85 Pickup cab & front clip
6.2, th350, np203part time
d60 w/ LSD, 14bolt detroit, 4.56
56" springs front and rear, installed long end forwards in the rear
hydro assist
42/15/15 TSL's
This was the first real step in the rebuild after stripping my old truck down to a bare frame (including removing all the spring hangers). It was a BARE frame. 2 rails and 4 crossmembers, one of which I cut off later!
And then all put together. Has all of .5 miles on it at this point!
And here it is on it's maiden voyage offroad, through my friend's backyard in hawaii. By the time I drove it around the dirt roads, back and forth to a couple places, then out and wheeled it, it had over 50 miles on it when I put it on the boat to ship it back to the mainland.
