I have worked on this truck for 4 years and I have never driven it as much as I have the past 2 days. I can honestly say for the first time in 4 years that I have been driving it for a while. Everything from the bottom half is done.

I have installed a 6" spring lift, dana 60, 14 bolt ff w/ detroit locker (4:56 gears), double shock in rear, mild rebuilt 350, 400/ 205 combo, Tom Woods rear driveshaft, Wenco front driveshaft, crossover steering, drilled and tapped gear box, panhard bar/trac bar, high steer, 37" pro-comp Xterrains, and little odds and ends to finish her up. There is still a lot to get done but for know I will beat her for a while. I am just going to clean it up inside.

Thanks to everyone that has helped me on this website (CK5), and SoCalBigDawgs. Much love to everyone. Here are some pictures.

Lookin good. I have yet to drive mine (ever). So I know the feeling. Hoping to have it driving by the end of the year, but even then it will not be "done".

Sounds like me. I've dropped about $12,000 into the beast ('74 K5) since this summer. From the perspective of mechanical reliability it is a new truck. I've only been restoring it to stock condition. I don't have anything fancy like custom work or exotic parts. I want it to be easy to find parts in junkyards if needed. The only concession I made to aesthetics is a fresh coat of paint, and even that was a Maaco job. Oh, I almost forgot, I did put a set of overload springs on the rear.
 
I think it looks great.
If you don't mind, how much do you have in it?

Holy Crap !!!! :eek1::eek1::eek1:You got to be kiddin me. 12k and no custom stuff and going to stock form.
Junkyards must be expensive were you're from.

I bought the truck for $3000 a long time ago. I have since put in about $7000 dollars plus or minus into it. $1800 for the dana 60 and 14Bff w/ detroit, $1300 for rims and tires, $1500 for engine rebuild and small parts to finish it off, $600 for lift, $1000 for 400/205, small parts crossover steering (used) Junkyard parts, panhard/ trac bar $200 and other small items that I can't remember.

What happened to the stock condition idea? And no custom parts????

I'm glad you changed your mind. There is only one way to build a Blazer, Better. :D
 
I hear yeah CBBR on the never done. I still have to finish the tranny crossmember I forgot I only have it bolted to one bolt each side and the rear brakes suck need to tighten it up or install disk brakes.

I got the panhard bar from Ed, he was going to install it on his K5 but instead sold it to me. He had it in the back of his k5 waiting to be installed but before he gets to that point he had a lot of work to do before.

I'll ask him where he got it from and let you know.
