finally....after a whole weekend of trying differant things....new center link, drag link, tightend u bolts, tightend gear box, tightend pitman arm, washers under kingpen springs, adjusting allignment, airing up and rotating tires, tightening shackle bolts, adding and tighting steering stablizer, checking wheel bearings, it ended up being the shackles not being welded together...took a piece of angle iron welded in between both shackles and presto...no more death wobble...probly could use dual steering stabilzers....my k5 has a 6inch lift, 35, 14.50 on 15inch tsls sx's with a dana 60 and with the front hangers rotated fwd and i think 8 inch shackles.....ahhhhh its like taken a fat crap ive been holding for 6 months...:D

yep... i could feel the axle shift under the truck when i would hit a bump or pot hole...especially on the passenger side....

i dont think so.....havnt really tried flexin it yet...but if it did take away sum of that flex...its probly flex you wouldnt want...it seems it would cause alot more stress on bolts and shackles...and it feels alot more stable on the road around turns too...

That's awesome man. I know how much death wobble sucks. My 96' F-350 was really bad. I replaced the bushings on the panhard rod with polyurethane and that mostly killed it. If I would have kept that truck the next step would have been a stabilizer.
Also, I got a Dana 60 put under the front of my suburban 2 years ago. The guy didn't put on a stabilizer (it had mounting location from factory). I got it to 30 mph and it went ape-s&%t. A simple $25 stabilizer from Napa stopped it. Never thought it could be that easy.

im gonna try that when it gets nice out. my blazer is a street queen anyways so if i lose flex who cares

Is it possible the upper shackle bushings are wasted and you welding the shackles together is a band-aid?

8 inch shackles are pretty darn long - that is a lot of leverage on your bushings. I've been thinking of welding together my (planned) 6 inch front shackles - I think I'm sold now (as long as I can keep the "bridge from hitting the frame). I'm glad it worked for ya - another thing for DW sufferers to check. :D

i wish i could put some pix up.....my digi camera broke...ill get pix up of the hole rig as soon as i get a camera.. i rotated the front hangers fwd and changed the shackle angle.....
