I am finally getting around to redoing my swap. Originally I had a 5.3, 700r4, NP208. My 700r4 failed on me and now I am working on a new harness so I can run a fresh built 4l65E. The truck is a mild trail rig and will see "overland" use. I don't want or need the 4l80E; the better overdrive in the 4l65E will be more beneficial for my use.

Having problems finding exactly what I need on the PNP / Range switch connector. There is tons of info on the pinouts online. I am having a hard time finding the actual wiring diagrams for these. I don't want to delete these plugs. I want the park neutral for the optimized idle and fuel / spark mapping. From what I can tell with the diagram I did find is there is no park neutral signal going to the main round plug on the transmission. So both the range sensor and main transmission plug are necessary for optimal operation.

Does anyone have info on how to wire this up on a squarebody? I checked lt1swap.com and searched google for hours looking for what to do with the green wire that runs from the PNP / Range switch up to plug C2, Pin E3, Circuit 275 - this should be the transmission mounted neutral saftey switch output. Not sure if that would be a 12v+ or ground signal.

I currently have the starter and reverse lights controlled by the OEM 1987 squarebody wiring. I believe I also have the park / neutral run from the column (need to verify).

See reference pic PNP switch C2:
Should I just have pins: B C E F G "capped off" with sealed shrink wrap and left in the harness for potential future use?

This would leave pins: A D connected. It looks like connector C2, pin C on the PNP switch is only a power supply for the tail lights?

Only the wires that go to C1 are needed. The neutral safety and reverse wiring (C2) can stay just the way it is as they have no effect on any of the PCM strategy.

Thanks, I have been struggling with this for a while. Nice to know I was on the right track. Just need to get my fuse box setup now.
