Hey looks good! let me ask because i (sorry) dont know Two oil filters? Headers ??? are they wraped What kind are they?

yes twin filters, easy to get to and change on the fire wall and twice as filtered.. less crap to get by to the motor. The headers are afterburners / yes i wraped them, to keep the compartment a little cooler and send the heat out the back.

not to bad. lose the grill guard that was not intended for the truck. looks... out of place. that would be appropriate for a ford explorer or something not a boxy k5

glad to see a cage is planned, good job so far, i would ditch the body lift or at least drop to a 1" bl. one major suggestion, spend the $25 :deal: and become a member, it is honestly the best money i have ever spent on any vehicle. i have saved more money then i could even begin to tell you from tech articles, and help of fellow ck5'ers. again good job on the rig! :waytogo:

i agree but i got it for $20 a new one is like $400 if i find a used one for my rig like under $100 ill switch... :)

do you have to change both oil filters at the same time? those headers give you more room? I dont think i have that much room with mine that are a pain in the a**. dash is cool i'll be wanting to see the soft top did you buy new or used?

do i have too... no but its better to i guess.. and they are only like 3.50 each... thats the cheap part of the oil change... the oil mobil 1 15-50 full syn 6 qts is almost $40
and the headers dont get in the way of anything really just the #8 plug a little but if you can squeeze its no problem...

soft top i got used for $175 from some guy in Mo. some one here posted that is saw it on either e bay or craigs list .. so i checked it out and jumped on it.

What kind of wheeling u do Mud sand rock clamb? whatss the most you do? is that the reason for the two filters are just for a better setup? and i like the idea just not seen to many

The headers are afterburners / yes i wraped them, to keep the compartment a little cooler and send the heat out the back.
Wrapping your headers trapps all the heat and moisture inside the pipes and can ruin the coating on them and start rusting. If they are not coated they will rust out even faster if wrapped. Also most all header mfg's will void their warranty if they have been wrapped.

Just trail hopping you know dirt trails with the random mud hole, tree stump, water crossing... dont have the axles for true rock crawling and here in Fla no real rocks :)
The filters up high also protect them from stuff hitting them.
As for the wrap you are 100% right , it does void most warranties , but in the past i have changed headers every few years anyway.. either due to rust or damage from hitting stuff... and these are under $200 ... maybe next pair ill save up and get a $$$ coated pair...

seriously man, remove that grill guard ASAP! That's fairly hideous and looks really cheap/crappy. Sell it for $50 and get somebody to weld you up a simple tube pre-runner or something. That just looks like real crappy work compared to what appears to be good work on the rest of K5.

I like the black on black on black on black thing. The grille guard just doesnt match the lines of the truck though.

One question, whos the smart guy that ditched the fuel injection on it?
