I've beeen tickering around with a combination axle truss/anti-wrap set-up for a couple weeks now, here's what I've done.

antiwrap1.jpg

It took some time to build, here's some of the pieces I had to machine. After everything was made, I jigged the pieces to a 14bff housing I had laying around.

Now that it's welded and ground, time for install.

Installed and ready for anti-wrap bar... shocks.

Man that looks good. I see alot of people doing the clamp thing, is that for any reason? Any chance of it moving?

Thanks

I clamped it on, so it can be removed if I have problems with the axle.
Plus...to remove the cover, the truss needs to be removed or rolled back.

looks good man! all this truss stuff is going on right now is cool. man I need to get mine finished too. great job on yours.

got a pic of the front where it mounts to the pinion (i assume)?

No...I don't..I'll get some tonight.:wink1:

rdn2blazer let's see some pics.;)

Very nice job, the clamps remind me of parts of pipe supports that were made at a metal fab shop i once estimated for. Very beefy

I was pretty lucky to find some 4"x.250" DOM tube, 1/2"th CR plate,1" DOM for free...In fact I spent $0 building this...anyone could build it.

The hardest task was boring the 3 1/2" hole into the pinion plate that was machined on a bridgeport mill. The 2" tube was bent on a pro-tools 105 bender. A craftsman drill press and a old school chop saw, was used for cutting and drilling. The clamps were cut with the bridgeport also.

Not bad for a Engineer! Nice government job....

I was almost in your area last week. I bought a Camaro on Ebay and picked it up in Canton and hauled it home.

Does that blazer have any panels left on her?

Sales? Well with a hobby like ours you gotta go where the money is.

I have no more questions because "a picture is worth a thousand words."
