Got my 3/4 ton running gear today. Dana 44 front, 14 rear....WOOHOO! Now comes the fun part ;) The axles are out of a 73 with that full time c%$p. How hard is it to swap in Manual hubs?

Way to go Bill, now you won't have to worry about snapping any more axles!!! Or trying to find 30 spline spares

I haven't done a hub swap on my 44, it came with the all steel Spicer's

, but I think it is pretty straight forward.

Swapping to locking hubs is easy. A '73 should have the external type hubs. Remove the 6 bolts holding the splined drive hub and install the new locking hubs. Don't throw the splined drive hubs away. I carry mine to use as spares, just in case a hub explodes while wheelin'.
