Finaly got the new plant in today, took alot longer than I figured it would even with the front clip removed.
I found that the kicked out oil pan would not go in with the x-member attached, had to remove it then reinstall it.
The tall valve covers had to have the firewall massaged to get them to clear.
Had to massage the firewall some more to install the HEI with the Accell super coil.
Mostly alot of lil stuff that just didn't want to fit right the first time.
Lots of missing parts( PO stuff).

But it was worth every bit when that sucker fired off the first time around and it sat through the cam break in with no troubles.

Just have a bunch of small stuff to do like install the seats and work out some wiring gremlems.
Inurance and tags is tomorrow, then it's road worthy.
Just in time too, the jeep's front end finaly took a crap and it is no longer drivable.
I took a bunch of pics, soon as I get em devoloped I'll get em posted.

whoohoo

Tagged and insured it today.
Insurance went from $160 a month for the Jeep to $300 a year for the K5. :xmas:
Just got back from the maiden voyage.
Steering feels realy loose, but not to bad.
3.08's and 33's suck azz. Good thing it has a 465 in it.

Definately need to loose the ram's horn exhaust and get new headers and 2.5" pipes.

I built a 4 bolt main 350, had it bored .060 over and balanced.
running 9.0:1 compression with KB Silv-o-lite flat tops, connected to Eagle floating and polished rods.
The heads are 487 castings, port matched and pocket ported, stainless undercut and swirl polished 1.194 valves, had studs installed and am using guide plates for the 1.5 ratio roller rockers. Chambers came in at 75 cc's after shaving them.
I'm using the Rhoads Hydra solid cam, I still haven't ran it enough to deliver a verdict on it yet but it seems to pull real strong.
I topped it off with an Ebrock RPM Q-jet.

Now I just have to keep my foot out of the carb for a bit till it is broke in. :cool1:
