Built up a nice 400 small block.

Balanced crank and rods.
High vol oil pump.
dual roller timing chain.
9 1/2 to 1 Speed-Pro Hypereutectic Pistons
Comp cams 444 lift/ 214, 214
comp cams roller tip rocker arms
stock heads port matched, polished and pocketed 1.94 intake/ 1.75 exhaust.
new accell HEI distributor.
Weiand 8004 intake
Holley 750 cfm carb.
flowmaster headers.

Also
140 amp alternator ( had to fabricate custom bracket )
AC compressor for occassional air.

we estimate this to be fairly peppy at 360 - 375 hp but runs on pump gas. Not sure as to the torque spec.

I mocked up alot of accessories to be sure of fit but I plan to stab her with headers, starter, powersteering pump attached as well as all bracketry.

enjoy :D

nice.
you'll dig those stage 8 locking header bolts.
i think those heads will eventually rust if not painted.

we'll see how the unpainted heads do. I think it looks tough with the two tone effect. spray'em down with some WD-40 or something

Look good I like your bracket I would paint those heads silver though... it will match the intake and not rust

Are you doing the CS-140 alternator upgrade with this? I picked up the adapter pig tail today and plan the swap myself.

the alternator is a Delco 140 AMP part number 7157. Its housing is much larger at almost 7 inches in diameter, thus the custom bracket. I fried my stock alternator about a year and a half ago on a long winch pull using my warn 8274. My rig will have the dual battery setup with isolator and ambulance style battery rotary switch in the cab. The larger alternator will take alot more abuse.

AC compressor for occassional air do you meen like on board air i see some copper lines ?

Yes, sorry it is for on board air. The ac compressor I dont think was meant for any continous duty but is good for filling up a tire. I tried to fill up an air mattress with it once and smoked it pretty good. You need to be able to have a port in the air intake where you can add some oil periodically as well.

If ya want to stay with the cast look there is an engine paint called cast back.
It looks just like a fresh cast surface and is an engine paint.

Thanks for all the comments guys I appreciate it. I may have to mask off some things and paint those heads. Black or something. anyways I cant wait to get the rest of the truck together and fire her up. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
