This is rated to 500 psi and holds air as well as my compressor tank=2 1/2 gal.

My father inlaw uses a propane tank for filling atv tires on the trail.what about a propane tank?
Where did you get the regulators or whatever else is involved to make these tanks work to fill tires. Plus, wouldn't an air/scuba tank work better because you can get 3000psi or so out of them? Nice setup though.![]()

Problem there is what compressor do you have that will pressurize it to 3000psi? The Yorks just don't go that high

I would suggest nothing under 100 PSI. Since most pumps we use are rated somewhere around 125 - 150 PSI it would be best to have a tank rated for higher than that. Personally I wouldn't use a pump rated higher than the tank.
