Fired up my big block today.. (pics)

pretty certain thats 69. 69 was the first year side markers were required on all production cars.

Ryan,

i would have thought you had that car dialed in by now. Your fastest time was only 11.9? i thought you were running in the 10's? I might still have some of my stuff from my first gen. what do you need for safety? I will check if i have it. I also still have my 4 core radiator that was redone by mattisons radiator. that came out of the camaro. among many other things.. Here is a pict. of my old camaro if you forgot.

Heres where a lot of my time and money go besides into my k5:
-'67 camaro RS/SS
-454 .070 over, steel crank, forged rods, forged je pistons, Performer RPM rectangular port heads, decked to 98 cc's to achieve 11:1 compression, heads lightly ported and polished inside and out by myself. ARP head studs and fasteners throughout.
-New CAM (I degreed in) and REV KIT: Crower custom grind SOLID ROLLER, 260 degrees duration @ .050, .590 lift, New valvesprings (212 in lbs. of seat pressure!) New pushrods, (lifters and pushrods weigh 44 grams less per set!!! Lightened up OVER 3/4 of a pound out of the valvtrain!)
-1.7 scorpion roller rockers, Dart single plane manifold, Holley 920 cfm carb, hooker super comp 2-1/8" primaries to 3" & 1 chambers.
I also just put in a stock volume & pressure oil pump along with a windage tray, and a crank scraper to help control some oiling issues..
Oh yeah, rings gapped a little bigger for some juice and a sportsman fogger kit.

It fired right up.. appearantly i know how to put together an engine and adjust a solid roller cam. Only problem is its weeping a little outta the head studs, hopefully it should go away after a few heat cycles.
Should be making a little more power this time around.

I see that you have super charged your alternator

Too cool man........just got back from Joliet...awesome show at the "Record Setting Dragstrip"; seems like they reset Nat'l records every year there.
Nice job on the car....

Runs 10.30's @ 130 with 1.45 60' times.

the only way to tell 67 from 68 is side markers right? or is that 68-69?

Since nobody answered you yet and i just seen this far on this post, 1967 was the only year for wing windows. Both the 67 and the 68 have rounded wheel openings and the 69 has a more square wheel opening and also has the shark gills on the sides behind the doors.

Its a '67.
Yep i plan on running a crankcase ventilation system..
onlychevy6, it ran consistent 11.6's on a 100 degree day when the LS1 camaros seemed to be a full second slower than what they should have been running. (fastest heads and cam ls1 ran 12.8 on radials  ) "corrected times" should have pulled like two tenths off my time..
I found some things like burnt plug wires and the plugs looked pretty damn lean, so i'm sure theres more to be had with dialing it in..
I've been taking my time on this, Between all the work i did to my k5 over the last month or two, and college, I had very little time to be working on the car until a few weeks ago. :thumb:
