I'm running a 4 foot firestik and the package says trim to tune, what do I trim, the whole thing at the top. I dont have an swr meter or access to one, just doing it redneck style, any ideas

Best idea, go to a large truck stop and talk to the guys to find someone with a meter. You don't want to do it 'redneck style' and just guess, as you can cause damage to the radio. Most truck stops have guys around that do it for extra cash, and some that do it for a living, they will usually do something like that for a very reasonable price.

It means, cut the antena, depending on the freq range you want to recieve is the lenght of the antena.

I haven't seen a radio in a LONG time that doesn't have a built in meter. :dunno:

I just take mine to the local CB shop and the will tune it for me or anyone else for free
