I'm installing a 81 3/4 14 bolt in my 72. But it seems the I'm having an issue that the spring perches are just a touch too much in. It could be that i have the axle at a bit of an angle and i just don't know it. But i thought i would run it by ya ll really quick before i waste a day. I can get the springs in the perch holes but when i do it almost looks like the springs are at a slight pitch in on both side. If this is true i need to replace the perches. Any advice?

Dumb suggestion....

What about measuring the spring perches on the axle you removed, and comparing that measurement to the pad spacing on new axle???

That's probably the simplest way. From what I remember, there is one set of 14BFF perch widths that's way off,and one that's spot-on. If it looks close, it's probably good to go.

i could do that it covered it snow is the only reason i haven't yet. but it is close it's just every time i get em on they look pitched in. it's really weird.

But were they way off or just alittle bit?

Sorry bud, it's been like two years since I had to move them. I really can't remember how far they were off. If you need, I can take measurements tonight. I have the old axle behind the garage with absolutely no snow covering it. :D

it's not that big of an issue. but thank bro. i think the snows gonna melt today 60's today its one heck of a change.
