Hi, new to all this. I always like the blazer so I got a jimmy. Same thing parts wise right? It's an 82 with a 350 4spd....granny low some rust on the rockers and a plow. The back window is power, makes noise but dosen't move. I took the panel off and saw that the cable wasn't hooked up to the motor. Window can't go down can't open the tail gate. So I connect the cable to the motor and the window starts to go down. Cool and I start laughing. No way that's it, so down goes the tail gate. OK so I go to close every thing up and the window wont go up. Sorry for the long story. I grabbed a drill and got the window up. New window motor right ? Thank you for any help.

swap on a manual tailgate, those power windows arent worth the hassle imo especially if you go offroad often. Im always hearin about problems with em

Sorry, couldn't resist when I saw the name.

First off welcome to CK5! Lot's of good info here.

The rear power t-gates aren't that bad if you know what to look for.
First, check the wiring inside the gate. I found corroded splice connections inside the gate keeping my window from working. Cut and respliced the wires and it's good now.
Second, there is a switch on the drivers side of the gate that is problematic. Most people just bypass it.
Third, check to see if it works/doesn't work from both switches. Mine will work from the interior switch but not the outside, key switch on the gate.
