Been on the site for years, but never really posted anything. Here are my toys. I have been wheelin' my jeep for a while, but never had the K5 in shape enough to get out there until now.

I'm pretty sure I might be seeing the jeep go away soon. Love this truck and can't believe how capable it is.

Here are a few pics for you all.

nice first gen! you up in sedona? (guess that would be down from flagstaff)

Man! The 1st gen forum has been blowing up lately with new rigs coming out of the woodwork's. I lived in Flagstaff way back in 1970-71 Nice lookin rig and yes they are very capable. O- Welcome!:waytogo:

yeah!

Thank Guys,

This truck was purchased here in Flagstaff in 1971 by my grandfather. It has lived it's whole life between here and New Mexico.

Specs. Let's see...

383 stroker motor, Holley 600, Headman Headers, Custom 3" exhaust with cross over pipe and magna flows, built TH350, rebuilt NP205. 14 bolt w/ disks, 8-lug D44, 4.56 gears. Running a 4" Tuff Country all spring lift to clear the 35" BFG Muds.

My painter matched the color from the interior, so it's close to factory It just looks really good in the pics because it was super sunny in Sedona that day.

Awesome.

Now you need to change your avatar pic from the parcking lot to one of those beautiful fex pictures!

fantastic rig man. I really like hearing stories of these old blazers being in the family since new. glad to see you've got it out playin'

I am in love!

I think blazers ( 1st or 2nd gen) make better mild wheelers than just about anything other than a Cherokee or Toyota.

Doesn't take much at all to make em super capable

Very nice! :waytogo:

I can't believe you wheeled it with the hardtop installed.... first because of the risk of cracking it all to pieces when the truck flexes, but more importantly because the 1st Gen shines when it's communing with nature as a full-convertible!

It might be a bit too hot in AZ to run full vert, but a simple bikini top would help. Pull that hardtop off and give it a try sometime.... You'll fall in love with that K5 all over again. :deal:

I haven't had the top off of it in a long time. Mostly because I never had anywhere to store it. I do love driving it topless, so I'm going to have to take that bad boy off before the monsoons come. It's not too hot here in Flagstaff. We are close to 7000 feet of elevation so high 80s is extreme here.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I love her too!

Nice work! I hope mine turns out half that nice but blue.

Are you planning on blazer bash?

Nice looking truck, man!! We have a couple 67-72 Suburbans down here that actually get wheeled. In fact, we were both up near Flag a couple weeks ago. Would have been cool to check your truck out in person.

We should put together an Arizona run sometime. It would be great to meet some locals in K5s. :thumb:
