First time BB attendees and those who missed last year check in

2012 Chevy Silverado 2500 crew-cab, Vortec 6.0, LT trim, 13K# tow rating, and low miles.

Since 2011 when I upgraded the Blazer, I had been towing at 1,000# over the tow rating of the 1997 2500 Cheyenne. The 5.7 Vortec and 4L80E transmission did well, but it was the stopping/brakes that always had me on edge. :eek1: Also, with 104K miles, most of which was towing something, the truck was getting a little tired.

Unfortunately, I could not afford the Duramax/Allison set-up even in a used truck. But, 2012 pulls (and stops) the 8,000# Blazer/trailer combo well and is a very confortable ride.

Cool deal Jack!

This will be my first time to bb. I used to be a regular to EJS but I haven't been to moab in 8 years :doah:

Just curious who is showing up for BB for the first time and who I missed meeting last year. Not sure if '15 will be bigger than '14 but sure seems to have more commotion :dunno:

I went in 2003, and swore I'd be back every year I had so much fun. :doah:

We're going this year, and I'm hoping it's just as fun, for me as well as my 15 year old daughter and my wife. The first day off I could get is Sept 11, the Friday. Our plan is to leave here the Thursday night as soon as I get home from work and drive down in one ugly 20 hour push. The goal is to make the BBQ and MnG...

Saturday, Crack and Back

Sunday, Hell's Revenge (taking all the bypasses)

Monday, We'll see who is still around and what they're doing

Tuesday, Same as Monday

Wed we're gonna check out the 4 corners monument on the way to the Grand Canyon. Couple days at the Canyon...

Check out the Hoover Dam on the way to Vegas. Couple of days in Vegas before heading north again.

Cool! Sounds like a trip full of fun discoveries.

You can do what you like with this suggestion, skip the 4 corners. It is an expensive tourist trap. The actual corner is northeast out of the monument site boundaries. Spend that time somewhere else.

Just my 2 cents.

A few of us are running Lockhart Basin Sunday into Monday. You should tag along.

Appreciate it...I might get outvoted though. That's OK too, it's a vacation and we have plenty of time. We'll see when the time comes.

This will be our first time. Tried to make it last year, but wasn't able. Hope we can get all the little projects done in time.

It looks like I will not be able to go this year. I screwed up in april when I bid for my vacation and bid the wrong days off. I have to be back at work on the 11th...It was not a happy day at work last week when I checked the vacation book and realized that.

To make me feel better, I decided I would take all the money I was going to spend that week in Moab and buy extra BBQ raffle tickets with it. That way none of you will win anything and you can share some of my pain.

Who the heck are you going to trust with your tickets?
