2012 Chevy Silverado 2500 crew-cab, Vortec 6.0, LT trim, 13K# tow rating, and low miles.
Since 2011 when I upgraded the Blazer, I had been towing at 1,000# over the tow rating of the 1997 2500 Cheyenne. The 5.7 Vortec and 4L80E transmission did well, but it was the stopping/brakes that always had me on edge. Also, with 104K miles, most of which was towing something, the truck was getting a little tired.
Unfortunately, I could not afford the Duramax/Allison set-up even in a used truck. But, 2012 pulls (and stops) the 8,000# Blazer/trailer combo well and is a very confortable ride.![]()
Cool deal Jack!

That's Classic.
