First year for hydo clutch set ups??

When did they come out? Was an 88 K30 hydro?
Like atho said, '85 was first year for hydro.

BTW, an '88 K30 would be the new body style. If you are referring to the old body style trucks like an '82, for example, that '88 would be a "V" series as '87 marked the change over from K to V.

It would still have the D-60 right. I have a line on an 88 1ton 4x4, 4speed at a good price. They didnt go to Independant until 91 or 92 correct.

could be one or the other. my uncle has a '90 K3500 that is the new body style. of course his is an x-cab dually too, so that might make a difference.

One tons still ran independent in '88 but in the NEW body style. The old body style still ran D60's up to '91.

If you can't tell the difference between the new and old body style, get the VIN and decode that. For an '88, it will read "K" or "V" determining which. Go check that out and get back with us.

I believe it was only the crew cabs, subs and blazers that retained the old body style til '91. Regular cab, duallys, ext-cabs are all 'new' body style starting in '88 regardless of tonnage.

I talked to the guy last night (he is an hour away so I didnt just run over there) its an 88 extended cab 1 ton. Its independant :( that burst my bubble! All I wanted was the hydro set up but figured I could make a couple of $ parting it out. I passsed.

The old body style V-3500 still ran regular cabs up to '91, BUT only in the cab-and-chassis version.

ah the joys of hydro part hunting.

So I was walking through a yard last weekend. There was a complete untouched hydro setup in an 87 1ton. Pedals and all. :eek1:

1. the truck had not cleared yet.
2. a buddy needs it and he is going back this weekend to get it.

****in insane IMO

i've got everything i need to go hydro now, but i haven't had any issues/dislikes with the linkage yet. if i ever see a hydro setup at the yards, i plan on snaggin it to flip.

that's if i have time to get the pedals out :haha:

thats one of the reasons i carry a compressor if i go to the big yards. air saw zips em right out. :waytogo:
