For the price of that fuel pump kit, I would just buy a TBI tank and sending unit and get an EP381 pump, then run your own lines up to the throttle body (many different ways to do it and cost different amounts). You may be a little more money into it then the kit you linked, but in the long run it will be way worth it. In-tank pumps are always better than in-line....just my $0.02 is all.

I really like the new FITech kit. I want to put this exact setup on my dads 84 3/4ton suburban that we have as a hunting rig....these things are perfect for stuff like that

cost twice as much going to be broke till dec but ill get it up and running for now

I'm looking at either that or the holley EFI. I'm waiting to keep reading positive reviews. Got some other stuff to do first.

holley doesnt have some of the features that fi tech does and ive been reading alot and people like the fitech stuff, i am interested in holleys but will go with fitech.

Yeah I read that. If I was looking for 500hp out of a small block I'd probably go with FAST or something. This is a weekend cruiser and occasional trail rig for the family. If I ever feel the need for more power a mild BBC will be my choice or a LQ4 with factory EFI. At this point in my life I'm ready for a turn key driver, and I hate playing with carbs nowadays. Been spoiled

Spoiled is my current problem.... had the tbi on my burb keeping it from running and after loads of money and time I said F it, carbs are fine....... now it has a carb and I can't stand it :haha:

Same carb on my kids truck was awesome.... different cam, dizzy, and and msd on it must have made the difference though.... all I know is I want injection back lol

Well mine runs great as is. It will be one of the last things I do. But, my last k5 was a 91 and I sure liked the whole starting every time, no raw fuel smell, running Good on angles and being able to run great from 10 degrees to 110 thing.

I've got all the other upgrades all figured out, this is one of the last peices. I don't need it, it's a want lol.

Or I might go crazy like Larry and swap in a 8.1 with EFI hahaha

ill do that at a later date want to get up and running still have to buy lines and fittings for the efi unit.
found the pump on amazon for 75 bucks

I have the walbro gsl392 and came with the frame mounting kit for around $80. Only reason I didnt put in the tbi tank is because of the mods required on a first gen. But 31 gal and in tank pump would have been nice.

The walbro has been quiet for me, really have to listen to hear it prime. And its been about 3 years with it. But limited miles, probably 6k or less.

Out of tank pumps suck. Heed my warning....

I think it depends a lot on the pump and how it's placed. I have an external pump on my Howell TBI kit and it works fine, the only time I hear it is when it cycles as the ignition is turned on.

Without spending a lot of money on a pump a modestly priced external isnt going to hold a candle longevity/reliability wise to an intank pump. Something about keeping them submerged in a cold liquid stopping them from getting hot just seems to work, really really good :D
