I have an 88 k-5. Right after I got it it sat for about 2 years. I am now driving it and recently crawled under it and found that it is rusted to high hell. The pass seat is about to go threw the floor, rear area is rusted under carpet, It is pretty bad. I love the truck though and was wandering would it be easier/cheaper to buy and another k5 w/ a bad motor but good body and just swap all my good pieces or just go ahead and have the rust cut out and new metal welded in?

You would probably be better off replacing the floor they sell replacemnet weld in foors if i remember right. just my opinion

LMC truck has replacements as well as Classic Truck Parts of America (formerly known as Chevy Duty)

You can find them both on the internet. Check both as somethings are cheaper at the other and you have to cross check for best price.

If you can handle some basic welding, I say go with the new floors. Finding a new rig and then doing an engine/tranny swap sounds like a big pain-in-the-butt.
