Been dealing with my th400s "park gear" slipping. Turns out the major slippage and shift problems was a bad body gasket and stripped bolts
(250$ fix). But, the local trans shop said it wouldnt hold park because "it must be in the shifter cause it went into park for him". So i took it home no matter what I did it wouldn't hold. I could push the truck and all it would do is click. So after some googling and pulled out a th400 I had laying around and checked it out. I noticed this about the rods that engage the parking pawl. It took me less then a hour to fix. Now it holds park
