I had a problem with my hydro-boosted steering pump not liking slow speed tight turning with my 38" tires. When I took a good close look at the problem I first found out that I did not have the larger 5/32 steering pressure valve that my V3500 truck is supposed to have. Luckily I had another old steering pump laying around that had the larger 5/32 pressure valve in it. The next problem was not having both steering pump belts on my dual belt pulley. I bought a new A/C compressor for my truck, and now it has both belts on it.

I added on a couple of other things that helped the steering like a smaller diameter steering pump pulley I had laying around that will spin the steering pump faster at lower RPM's. I also installed a steering fluid cooler on my Crew Cab.

Nice!!

And that's a cool shot with those sweet Pete's in the background. I sure miss being around trucks like those.

Thanks for the details.
That should help me when I am putting together the crew cab

It's a whole different thing driving an old school style truck like those versus one that was produced solely for the size of the sleeper, fuel economy and lowest MSRP.
I have always had the "truck bug", so I never liked lots of the "freight company " style trucks. Hauling them behind my W900L wrecker was boring as well.
But, I don't expect everyone to agree with me.

What I meant was I just stepped away from them, it would be a couple of more years before I would want to be in one.
I like the truck and I am keeping one to make an rv.

There are about ten more of those Pete's not pictured all in a row. The building behind it is Art Goldstrom's hot rod museum. I lease a building in his complex to work on my Crew Cab.
