hello

my buddy just broke the aluminum transfer case (slip yoke 241) in his 1982 blazer

we decided to replace it with a 465/205 (fixed yoke) from a mid 80s K35 crew cab

what modifications should be done to the old (slip yoke) or the 2 piece crew cab driveshaft in order to use it

the car has stock springs with no lift

thanks

from what application ?
can you post a picture if available

thanks a lot

from whatever application that will fit??? my '79 blazer driveshaft had yokes at both ends. or find a longer one and cut it down.

can I use the slip part in the 2-piece drive shaft to fabricate a longer 1 piece driveshaft ?

The only application might be a K-5 that came with a fixed yoke T-case, but those might be too long (shorter drivetrain). So just find any driveshaft with a good slip joint in it that has the right yokes and have a shop re-tube it to length. Or shop for a built-to-order shaft, which might not be much more money.

Some of the junkyards near me keep semi-trailers or old busses filled with stacks of driveshafts. I you want to spend hours digging through them with a tape measure and calipers you might get lucky.

I just took a fixed-yoke driveshaft off my K-5. PM me if you want more details.
