i am ready to make my crossmember for my 4l80-e/203/205 doubler kit. its in a 1ton frame and i have the 205 up rotation of 2".

my question is should my tranny pan be level with every thing hanging in its correct position. or should it be tilted up or down.

my reason for the question is i figured with the deeper frame hight of the 1ton frame and 2" up rotation it should be perfect for a flat belly pan . but i have found i am still a little down at the 205 tcase bottom for the front output. so i was thinking if i made the crossmember to hold it up so it was flat then perfect. but thats when i found this problem.

thanks for any help or pics. and yes i have seen tons of pics for the crossmebers and got lots of ideas.

Please share the pics of crossmember's and mount's you come up with,, I'm doing the same swap in mine.

Typically the engine should have a 4* tilt downward from front to back.

I've got my driveline clocked flat. The engine is at 0* rake now, and the transmission pan is definitely not level anymore. It's raked forward at probably 4*...

Not a big deal IMHO, trucks have been traveling both up and down hills successfully for years.... :D

When I set mine up, the bottom of the transmission case sits about level with the frame rails, although the engine intake appears to tilt back a bit. I think it sits pretty close to the same as it did before I monkeyed with it.

Here are some pics of mine. Not an auto but it does have a flat belly.
SM465/doubler, DIY4x motor mounts move the motor up 1/2".

ok thans. the shorter frame depth of the k5 ment more work for you .

my 1ton truck frame is deeper. so i should be able to do it with less work.

Thanks Greg for fixing my links:bow: Looks like I need to work on my posting skills:crazy:
