i have a dana 44 3/4 ton in the front of my blazer, (non flat top knuckle) the other day i found a flat top dana 44 in the junkyard but it is only 1/2 ton. can i use the passenger side knuckle off this axle and still retain the 8 lug setup??? thanks in advance

The knuckles are the same between 1/2 and 3/4 ton, so yes, you can use the knuckles from the 1/2 ton axle. You do need to use both though, as the steering arm end of the knuckle is slightly different. On the 3/4ton d44, the tie-rod ends go in from the bottom of the knuckle, and in the 1/2 ton flat-top, they go in from the top of the knuckle.

Summer up, yes you can use them, but you have to use BOTH SIDES.

to clearify

non flat tops have the tierod mounted below the knuckle

flat tops have the tierod mounted above the knuckle.

there is no difference between 1/2 and 3/4 ton
