Have GM Corp 10 bolt front axle. Want to do crossover steering.
Where can I get the passenger side knuckle machined flat top in order to connect my tie rod directly from pitman arm ?

are non-members able to use the search function?

Offroad Design amoung another hundred places will set you up with a knuckle or just knuckle machining. They have arms too. :waytogo: Any other info can be had searching the forums. Try knuckle maching, titles only :waytogo::waytogo:

The 10 bolt knuckles don't have enough material to be machined for crossover steering.

You either need to get:

An aftermarket knuckle like these (you'd only need the passenger side, they are available in bare steel as well), they are direct replacements.

Or

A pair of knuckles off of a 76 and older Chevy D44. That passenger side knuckle will have material that can be machined, we charge $70 if you send it to us. You'll need to swap both knuckles because the older D44 has the tie rod coming in from the top and the 10 bolt is the opposite, the knuckles are a direct replacement.

ORU(I think?) also makes a passenger knuckle with a cast-on steering arm that someone on here had a bunch of pictures of...I think it was MNSTRBURBAN or something like that, he's got a huge build thread here in the Garage somewhere.

Think he said the knuckle was like >$150, and sounded like a great setup for the price. Gets you a stronger than stock crossover knuckle for about the same price as doing a stock setup with a cheap steering arm, and there are no fasteners to loosen up and shear off.

Those are pretty trick knuckles and we've sold them when they're available, unless they've had them recently they've been on back order for well over a year. They will charge your card now though and seems like they say they'll have them every couple weeks :doah:

Sounds like another Ballistic lol

Good to hear the product review from you guys. I don't think I've ever heard from anyone that has used them for very long, but removing a fastening system from the design can't hurt, and I don't think I'd want to do hi-steer on a 44 anyway. I'm sure the aftermarket knuckles are strong enough, but that's a lot more load on the upper balljoint and from what I see on Pirate, there's not really a great solution to balljoint durability on a 44.

I feel like aftermarket inner-c/knuckle kits for 30s/44s might actually sell if they ran like a Dana 60 balljoint or something. At least after living here in Reno and seeing how stubborn the Jeep crowd is about making a balljoint front axle work it seems like people would buy it.
