Flat towing a 72 Blazer??

I used to flat tow my Jeep all over the place. Is it possible to flat tow my Blazer?

Don't have a trailer for KOH about a hour tow each way.
 
I guess it's possible but I think it's probably going to depend on your tow rig and how it is set up, especially when it comes to braking.
 
Wow, good luck Roughing it, lol. I'd love to have me one of those to live out of once I finish building my 85 Jimmy and my 88 Honda Hawk GT(s). Tired of paying 1200 bucks a month for a place I live in on the weekends.

Flat towed my 71 from New Mexico to Michigan behind a U-Haul.
No issue's for me.
Removed the rear axle, made sure the front hubs were unlocked and that the transfer case and tranny were in neutral. Stuck the towing lights on the bumper and away I went.

Yeah I think when it comes to towing I would definitely pull the rear driveshaft and if you don't have manual hubs then I'd pull the front as well. Axle bearings usually last a long long time but running the transfer case in N and towing it anything more than a short distance may cause some erratic issues with the transfer case depending on the type of T-Case. Not sure what you are running

It's a 205.

I'll call Stephen at ORD about tow hook for the front bumper.
 
According to an old owners manual for the '72 K5 I had,it was reccomended you pull the rear driveshaft if it had to be flat towed more than 50 miles or at speeds above 35 mph..and unlock the front hubs of course..leave t-case in neutral..

There is no oil flow to the rear output shaft & bearings with just the drive shaft spinning,just the film of gear oil,which will not last that long..
 
Going to drop the rear drive shaft.

Found these in my disaster area I call a garage.

I think I got them from Currie for my TJ back in 06?!

We pulled a 94 YJ Wrangler behind a 94 7.3 4x4 F250 with slide in camper on 3 separate vacations to Canada.


I've also got a bent tow-bar that my dad ruined in the late 90's when he tried to back up a 74 K20 pulling a 69 Jimmy.
 
make sure there is no way the 205 can vibrate back into gear while your driving. I was flat towing my buddies rig, rear driveshaft out and his NP241 vibrated out of neutral into 4 low at 65 mph on the highway. the carnage was biblical.
